Nissan Marine Co. Ltd. of Japan has announced the discontinuation of certain segments of their marine business, including the production of the Nissan Marine brand of outboard engines. Tohatsu is the manufacturer of all Nissan outboards, and they are virtually identical except for branding and decals. Nissan models typically command slightly higher prices due to their premium branding and offer marginally higher resale values. However, there is no difference in features, specifications, or warranty terms. This decision by Nissan Marine does not affect the production or sales of our Tohatsu brand. The Tohatsu Corporation remains deeply committed to the North American market and will continue to strongly support the Tohatsu brand worldwide. Tohatsu will also provide full support for all existing Nissan outboards in the marketplace.
