Nissan Marine Co. Ltd. of Japan has announced the discontinuation of certain segments of their marine business, including the production of the Nissan Marine brand of outboard engines. Tohatsu is the manufacturer of all Nissan outboards. They are identical except for branding and brand labels (decals). Nissan models typically command slightly higher prices due to premium branding and offer slightly higher resale values. However, there is no difference in features, specifications, or warranty term. This decision by Nissan Marine does not affect the production or sales of our Tohatsu brand. The Tohatsu Corporation is deeply committed to the North American market and will continue to strongly support the Tohatsu brand worldwide. Tohatsu will also continue to fully support all existing Nissan outboards in the marketplace.
